Hand Crafted Soap Facts

What's In Our Soaps?

Our soaps are made from vegetable oils.  The only animal fat in these soaps is the milk fat, no lard!  Ingredients include goat's milk, olive oil, rice bran oil and  6% shea butter for moisturizing.  Our soaps are supperfatted, which means they contain in excess of  5% oils to moisturize your skin.  Palm, palm kernel & palm steric for hardness.  Coconut & palm kernel for lather.  All fragrances, wether fragrance oils or essential oils, are skin safe.  All our packaging lists the ingredients for our customers with allergies.  Only the finest herbs, oils and ingredients are used and extensive testing goes into every product Dancy Rose Soaps makes.  Providing only the best in Eco-Friendly, natural skin and body products is a matter of pride. You can rest assured that every product has been tested on ourselves before it is offered to you.  However, please use common sence and if rash or irritation should occur, please discontinue use.

What's NOT In Our Soaps?

Lye.  When handcrafted soaps are properly made & cured the soap will no longer contain lye.  A chemical reaction takes the alkali (lye), water, goat milk, oils & fats and turns them into saponified oil, fats and glycerine.  Resulting in a mild, pure, handcrafted soap.  Our soap is made in small batches to assure quality and is cured a minimum of 3 weeks to assure mildness.

Why Handcrafted Soaps?

Using handcrafted soaps assures that you are using soap, not detergent.  What's the difference?  Soaps contain glycerine, a moisturizer.  Most store bought soaps will be labled "beauty bar", or "detergent bar" because they are detergents, not soaps, and cleanse your skin harshly with chemicals, alcohol, synthetic perservatives and quite often petroleum products.  Usually the glycerine has been chemically removed.  Handcrafted soaps retain their natural glycerine.  Many people who switch to handcrafted soaps find they no longer need moistureizers.  In fact, some of our loyalest customers swear by our soaps for both washing up & shaving, even above comercial shaving creams, and will use nothing else!  Others have exclaimed that they just can't have their husband's touch their skin enough, they haven't felt this smooth and silky in years!

How Do I Best Care For My Handcrafted Soap?

Use a draining soap dish or rack so the soap will dry out between uses.  If the soap sits in water, it WILL MELT!.  Keep your bars out of the direct stream of the shower and they will last much longer.  Do NOT store them in air tight containers, they must breathe.  This will help them dry out further and last longer.  You may find over time that the fragrance of your soap will diminish as the fragrance oils or essential oils disipate.  Though they don't smell as pretty you'll find the gentle cleansing and powerful moisturizing properties of the soap are still fully intact.
